Second Thoughts

Second Thoughts
By Charles Rachel

The only reason a man might find a wallet in the street and put it back after looking inside is, if he might be planning to steel the contents of it. This might be money, credit cards, or any other items he thought he might be able to use for a certain purpose. Then the man might have re considered his decision, and decided instead to do the correct thing. If I was the man who found the wallet, I would try to find the owner of the wallet. If I was unable to locate the owner, I would turn the wallet in to the police and tell them where I found it. I would hope they would be able to return the wallet to its rightful owner. That is what I would do in this type of situation.

Updated Superstition List

Updated Superstition List
By Charles Rachel

For many years, we have heard lots of superstitions. Such as don’t walk under a ladder, you will have seven years of bad luck if you break a mirror, don’t cross in front of a black cat, and step on a crack, and break your mother’s back. Many people believe these silly superstitions. These sayings have been around for many years. I think it is time to include a few new ones. We all know horse shoes are considered a lucky charm. Wouldn’t it stand to reason then, if you owned a horse you might be four times as lucky? Because horses wear four of  them.

Why I Should Get what I Want for Christmas This Year

Why I Should Get What I Want for Christmas This Year
By Charles Rachel

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good boy this year. I have been kind to others, and I try to help anyone who needs it. I am also a very hard worker. I have even been trying not worry as much about things I can’t change, and I try to make improvements in my life, and in the lives of those around me when I can. These are some of the reasons I think I should get the gifts I asked for this year.

Fish War at Sea

Fish War at Sea
By Charles Rachel

Most people may not know this, but there is a war going on at sea. It is between the Narwhals and Hammerhead fish. They are friends most of the time. However, it becomes a war between them when it is mealtime. The Narwhals and Hammerhead each go out in search of food. They are each very protective of any pray they find. Neither species of fish likes to share their food. They each soon find their own food, and peace is restored. This happens each time they hunt for food. Sometimes if they are hungry enough though, they might even try to eat each other. Most of the time, but when they don’t it is like a war. An ancient sea turtle once told me this story.

If My Favorite Book came to Life

If My Favorite Book came to Life
By Charles Rachel

My favorite type of book these days is one about England or Irland. This is because I am part Irish, and I have always been interested in the royal lifestyle. I realize I will most likely never meet a member of the royal family, so this would be a fun way to learn about it. If my favorite book came to life, we would act out the story. I of course, would be the king. If the book was a person, he or she would be expected to bow, curtsy, and maybe even kneel to me from time to time. Not to mention Obey my every command, and grant every request. Within reason of course, I would have advisers, and would also be happy to listen to any suggestions my loyal subjects might have. I would be living my fantasy. If this actually happened, I would want to live it over and over again. I think it would be fun.

The Fortune Teller

The Fortune Teller
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time, there lived a fortuneteller named Lady Elaine. She had a crystal ball that could show her anything she wanted to see, even things that haven’t happened yet. One day as she gazed into her crystal ball, she could see that the town was about to be invaded by an army of insects. It became quite obvious to Lady Elaine what was needed. She looked into the crystal ball again. This time, she saw a man playing a ukulele. She thought the man might be able to rid the town of its insect problem by playing music. It has happened once before after all. As it turned out, the man was already on his way into town. Lady Elaine picked up her crystal ball and headed out to meet the man. She soon met up with the ukulele player and quickly explained the insect situation. The man agreed and went into town with the fortune teller. The man began playing his ukulele as he walked through the town. The insects soon began following the man as he played the soothing music. In fact, the insects followed the man all the way out of town. The man soon returned to town to let everyone know the insects were gone. On his way into town, the man past an ice cream shop and decided to go in. As the man entered however, he could see this was not just any ice cream shop. Then he met the owner of the shop, and was surprised when he saw who it was. The owner of the ice cream shop was none other then  Frosty the snow man. Frosty gave the man a bowl of raspberry ice cream, and they talked for a while. Then they wished each other Merry Christmas, and went their own ways.

Someone who Takes a Day Off and Has an Unexpected Adventure

Someone who Takes Time off of work and has an unexpected Adventure
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time, there lived a man named Jim Brown. He worked as a computer programmer at a local company. One day, he decided to ask his boss for a day off. He was only planning to relax and take it easy. Later that afternoon, he decided to take a walk. Suddenly he came upon what appeared to be a church. He decided to take a look around. As he entered the building, he was greeted by several monks. They never actually spoke to him. Jim thought this was a bit strange. However, this is because monks are a silent religious type order. They have other ways of communicating with each other without verbally speaking.  Jim found this interesting, and asked to join them.  They welcomed him with open arms. He then stopped speaking, and embraced their way of life. He found this very exciting and adventurous. Jim enjoyed this way of life so much in fact, he decided to become a monk for good, and he never spoke again.

The Haunted Concert Hall

The Haunted Concert Hall
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time, in the town of Sleepy Hollow, there lived a married couple named Jack and Sandy Davis, One day they heard an announcement on the radio saying, the Smashing Pumpkins were going to be performing in their town. This was their favorite band. Jack raced to the telephone, and called the station. To Jack and Sandy’s surprise, they won the tickets to the concert that night. Later that evening, Jack and Sandy arrived at the concert hall, and took their seats. Then the Smashing Pumpkins took the stage, and the concert began. They played all of their greatest hits. After a while, the band took a short break. During the intermission, the people in the audience got up to stretch, get refreshments, and take care of anything else they needed to. As some of them were walking around, they began hearing strange noises and seeing things. A few of them became curious, and began to investigate. Just then things began to be thrown around. Some of the people got frightened and ran away. Others returned to the second half of the concert and said nothing about what had happened. They were afraid some people would think they were crazy, or would not believe them. The Moral of the story, Be where of the next concert or event you attend. You may get more then you bargained for.

Why Someone would Need to Break into a Gas Station

Why someone would need to break into a Gas Station
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time, there lived two young boys name Ted and Eric. Ted was sixteen years old, and Eric was eighteen. One night, Ted and Eric decided to go for a ride. So they jumped into the car, and headed down the road. They weren’t sure where they wanted to go, but they needed to get gas first anyway.  As they drove around, they began looking for a gas station that might be open late, but they couldn’t find one. They soon came upon a gas station that was closed however, but there appeared to be something wrong inside. Ted and Eric got out of the car to take a closer look. When they looked through the window, they could see the gas station was being robbed. They quickly tried to open the door so they could try to stop the robbers, and help the lady inside. The door was locked though, and wouldn’t open. So Ted and Eric decided to break into the gas station to rescue the woman instead. The woman was so grateful to the young men, she decided to turn on the gas pumps anyway, and let them put gas in their car. When Ted and Eric got home that night, they told their parents about breaking into the gas station. Their parents were not very happy about this at first. In fact it wasn’t until they red about it in the Newspaper that they truly understood what had taken place. Their sons were indeed heroes. I wouldn’t recommend trying this in real life though.

The Time Traveler

By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time there lived a Scientist, and inventor named Dr. Jim Miller. He had always been fascinated with the idea of traveling through time and space. One day, he decided to invent a time machine that would be able to transport anyone to the past or future, and back to the present at anytime. First however, he needed to find a place to store such a machine. One day while out for a walk, Dr. Miller came upon an old abandoned building that once belonged to a church, and was used to hold recreational activities. He decided to take a closer look at it. As he began walking through the building, he thought this would be the perfect place to build, and keep his time machine. As he began figuring out the materials he needed, he began to get very excited.  Because he realized now, he would be able to help people go back in time, to change something in the past. Or do something they wished they had done, but didn’t do.  He used his time machine to travel many times. Dr. Miller decided however, it might not be such a good idea to try to change the past. It is always best to focus on the future instead.

Letter to a Future History Class about Life Now

Letter to a Future History class about Life Now
By Charles Rachel

Life in the year two thousand twelve is ok. There are no flying cars though. It doesn’t quite look like the future I imagined. There Are no cars that fly like the Jetsons. We do have computers that help make it much easier to manage any important files, documents, or paperwork. The computer also helps us take care of any banking business we need to handle. There are even some robotic machines that assist doctors in the medical field. I don’t know what the future will hold. I might not even be around to see some of it, but that’s what it is like to live life in the year 2012.

A College Student Brings His Friend Home for the Weekend

A College Student Brings his Friend Home for the Weekend
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time there lived a young college student named Dan. He wanted to be a computer programmer. He was best friends with his room mate John. John was a bit nerdy sometimes. One day Dan decided to invite John to come home with him for the weekend, and John agreed. When they got home, Dan introduced his friend to the family. Later that evening, they all sat down and began eating dinner. While they ate, Dan and John began talking about school. John spoke with a loud voice most of the time. It was just in his nature to do so. Everyone tried to get him to talk a bit softer, because the neighbors would start complaining about the noise. The neighbors were related to Count Dracula, so they slept during the day in coffins. Only coming out at night, Dan’s sister Jane was a bit nerdy too sometimes. It was hard sometimes to keep the noise down, but the family did they could. There were a few complaints by the neighbors, however for the most part everyone lived happily ever after.

She's Not Dead

She’s Not Dead
By Charles Rachel

If I found out one day that my high school math teacher was missing, I would first hope that wherever she might be, she’s okay. Then I would hope she returned soon. I might even begin to assume she might have died, but I would hope not. If I received a letter written in a code like she might have used in class, I would be glad she’s ok, and think she might be playing a game to see how much I remember after all these years. If I then discovered that my class mates received the same letter, I would wonder what other challenges might be waiting for us. Whatever they were, we would accept them. There is always room for practicing the skills you already have, or learning something new.

Love Letter from the Future

Love Letter from the Future
By Charles Rachel

If there was a secret room in my house, I would want to know what was in it, and why it was being kept a secret. I would then go, and investigate it myself. If I found a love letter to my mother that was written by someone other then my father, I would wonder why? If I discovered upon farther investigation that the letter was dated five years in the future, I would want to know what was going on. I would be curious about if my parents were planning to split up, and why they didn’t tell me? Thankfully I’m pretty sure this is not the case in my family. If it was however, I would talk to them about it.

Why I can't get a flu Shot Excuse

Why I can’t get flu Shot Excuse
By Charles Rachel

If I went to the doctor for a checkup, and he wanted me to get a flu shot. I would tell him why I can’t do that. I can’t get a flu shot because I might catch the flu from it. Why would I want to get a shot to prevent the flu, if the shot will give it to me anyway?  That’s why I can’t get the flu shot. Actually that is not true.  Getting a flu shot doesn’t give you the flu. Some people think it does, but it is one of the best things you can do to stay healthy. Getting the flu shot doesn’t mean you can never get the flu. It just means you may not get it as badly as you might have otherwise. So no more excuses. Protect yourself, and those you love. Get a flu shot today.

The Earth is Flooding

The Earth is Flooding
By Charles Rachel

If the Earth were flooding I would get on my boat, and prepare to sale to safety. If I could take only five kinds of animals with me on my boat, they would be Horses, because I sometimes picture myself riding them, dogs, because they’re loyal, turtles, because I have been interested in what they might be doing while under their shell, frogs, because their cute, and Panda bear cubs, because they look cute and cuddly. These are the five types of animals I would choose to take with me if the Earth was flooding.

My Life as a Knight

My Life as a Knight
By Charles Rachel

I think it would be neat to live my life as a knight. Then I could help protect England from people who break the law, or who may intend to try to do harm to the royal family. I would probably wake up in the morning, and wait to be given my daily assignment from someone in the royal chain of command. Then I would gladly carry out their instructions. I would feel really good knowing I was responsible for keeping the royal family safe to continue ruling the United Kingdom, and all surrounding areas.

Career Day at My Child's School

Career Day at My Child’s School
By Charles Rachel

If I agreed to be at my child’s school, and was then fired. I would keep my obligation to be at school. I wouldn’t have the heart to tell her until after Career day. I would do this because my children would be counting on me, and I wouldn’t want to let them down. Instead I would come to Career Day, and tell the class what I used to do for a living. As far as having trouble with my public speaking, I would just have to overcome it. Then after we got home, I would tell my children I lost my job. I would do anything for my children. Because that is what being a parent is all about.

A Magic Car Lot ran by Witches

The Magic Car Lot ran by Witches
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time in the town of Salem Massachusetts, there lived a bunch of witches. By now everyone has probably heard of them. They are famous for causing trouble. One day they decided to get into the business of selling cars, but this wasn’t your ordinary used car lot. As the customers started buying the cars would soon find out. One day one of the customers was out driving the car she had just bought. Everything seemed to be fine at first. As she continued however, the car began to slowly rise off of the ground. Before long, she found herself flying in the air. She immediately took the car back, and told the witches about it flying. Soon other customers began reporting the same thing. Some of them liked it, and kept their cars. However some of them asked for their money back. It might be nice to own a car that could fly. Don’t you think?

The End of the Worled

The End of the World
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time in the not to distant future, some friends went to the mall to shop and hang out. They were having lots of fun together. They even saw a magician performing outside the mall entrance a bit later that afternoon. Then they decided to go out for a drink. When they got to the bar, they each got an Orange Julius. When they came out of the bar, they saw the magician still doing his magic tricks. This time, there was even a unicorn standing next to him. For his last trick, he made the unicorn fly. Unknown to everyone however, this would be the last thing they would see. Just then, the ground began to shake. Everyone ran for their lives. They headed for the NASA space center. When they arrived there, they quickly began changing into their space suits. Then they jumped into the shuttle, and blasted off into space. They headed toward the planet Mars. There had always been some questions about weather or not Mars could support our kind of life. They discovered, at least in this case it could. Who knew after all these years, the Martians might just be us. Wouldn’t that be something?

The Search for Berried Treasure

The Search for Berried Treasure
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time, a group of friends went out in search of berried treasure. Armed with only a compass and map, they began looking for gold. They climbed every mountain, and unturned every stone. They searched all around the land, but there was no gold in sight. Still they continued looking for it everywhere. They were having lots of fun spending this time together. They soon found this experience was bringing them closer together, and making their friendship stronger. They never did find the gold they were seeking that day. Maybe that’s because they were never meant to find physical gold bars. Maybe this wasn’t that type of treasure search at all. Perhaps instead, they had already found it. Friendship may in fact be the best treasure of all.

A Band who travels around the Country Performing in Trailer Parks

A Band who travels around the Country Performing in Trailer Parks
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time there was an Irish band that came to the United States, to share their music and culture with us. The name of the band was Celtic Spirit. They liked to hold their concerts in any trailer park they could find. People came from all around to listen to there music. Some of the fans even began going to Ireland to see them perform. This type of music became extremely popular in America. It is played on some public radio stations, and in Irish pubs around the area. I am part Irish myself, and I love to listen to Irish music. I find it quite soothing.  It is sometimes easier for me to concentrate on work while it is playing in the background. St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. I sometimes even speak in the Irish accent on this day. It is lots of fun.

The Great Bird Migration

The Great Bird Migration
By Charles Rachel

For many years, birds of all kinds have flown south for the winter. When I was just a young boy, I was often curious about why this kept happening each year. I soon learned this is because the weather gets to cold for many birds to survive in one place. So they have to migrate to a warmer climate, but when spring returns, so will they. I love to listen to the birds sing in the morning while I am waiting for my ride to work. There is nothing quite as relaxing as that.

The Worst Concert of a Lifetime Leads to a Night to Remember

The Worst Concert of a Lifetime Leads to a Night to Remember
By Charles Rachel

There once lived a man named Frank. He loved listening to music. His favorite band was The Four Tops. They were performing in concert one night at the local arena downtown. Frank bought a ticket to the concert. When the concert began, all seemed well, but as the concert went along, Frank noticed the songs sounded a bit different. Not like they had been changed, but like some of the notes or voice pitches were not quite as they should be. Later that evening, Frank went to the bar for some drinks with friends. After a while, the lead singer of the band walked in. He asked Frank what he thought of the concert. Frank told him he thought it could have been better, and didn’t sound quite as good as it should have. The man apologized, and invited Frank to sing a song with them in the next show. They would be in town for the entire week. In the next show as promised, Frank joined them on stage, and sang a song with The Four Tops. This more then made up for the last time, and everyone had a great time. This truly was a night to remember.

The Most Evil Sport I Know of

The Most evil Sport I know of
By Charles Rachel

The most evil sport I can think of is horse racing. Horse racing alone isn’t evil, however gambling in some respects can be considered evil. Some people spend more money then they need to on this sport. It is ok to cheer for your favorite horse without spending money on it. It is different if you have the money to do so, but most people don’t these days. Some people choose to make bets on them anyway. That is a complete waist of money if you don’t have much of it to begin with. It could be better spent on things you need.

What I Would do if a Newspaper Boy wasn't Getting Any Customers

What I would do if A Newspaper Boy wasn’t Getting Any Customers
By Charles Rachel

If I saw a Newspaper boy who wasn’t getting any customers, I would buy a paper from him myself. If the paper was dated a week or more ahead of time, I would first start reading it. Because I have watched a television program in which a man receives tomorrow’s Newspaper today. This is called the Early Addition. The man goes around trying to stop or prevent the negative things the paper says will happen from happening. In this version of the paper, the stories that are printed haven’t happened yet, but might if they aren’t prevented. I would like to be like the guy in that show, and stop bad things from happening. If this paper was like the magic early addition.

A Pizza Delivery Boy runs Through the Neighborhood Like he is Being Chased
By Charles Rachel

If a pizza delivery boy was running through your neighborhood like he was being chased, he might just be. One explanation for seeing no one chasing him is he might have lost them. There also may be no one chasing him, however someone may have threatened him, and he might think he is being chased. Or he may be looking for emergency help for some reason. There could be multiple reasons for him to be running through your neighborhood. It is up to those reading this to draw your own conclusion.

They thought it might be fun to go to a live boxing event. So they headed downtown to the arena where the fight was being held. They asked to be trained to fight in the ring. This request was granted. Then they fought each other as the audience watched in amazement.  Bill won the fight and everyone had a great time.

A New Kind of Magic Cola on the Market

A New Kind of Magic Cola on the Market
By Charles Rachel

.

There is a new kind of soda on the market from the makers of Coca-Cola. It tastes like blueberries. This isn’t just any cola however, it is a magic cola. It brings out whatever is most in peoples personalities. For instance, if you are usually a loving person, it helps you be more outgoing with that side of your personality. However if you have a bit of a darker personality, it will display that side of your personality as well. If two people share from the same bottle, using separate glasses of course. The second person becomes more relaxed, and willing to at least try whatever might be requested of them. However it works differently on some people. This magic cola has also been known to give some who drink it, super powers. This is a good thing, because the people with these powers help protect us from the dark side, and keep us safe.

The Creepiest Coffee Shop that Ever Existed

The Creepiest Coffee Shop that Ever Existed
By Charles Rachel

The creepiest coffee shop that ever existed is in New England. It is said to be haunted. People who have been there have experienced lights turning on and off by themselves, cups falling off the tables for no reason, and in the kitchen ovens not getting hot as fast as they should. These seem to be playful spirits, but they have still frightened away many employees and customers of the coffee shop. Who are these ghosts? Would you visit this place? Go ahead, if you dare!!!!

A Free Eye Surgery that makes Everything Look like a Vangogh Painting
By Charles Rachel

If someone offered to do free eye surgery on me, I might consider it at first. However if the doctor told me the surgery would forever make everything I see look like a Vangogh painting, I don’t think I would want it. Vincent Vangogh was a good artist, but I don’t think I would like to see his work in everything and everyone I see. I wouldn’t mind seeing a painting sometimes. However I also want to see all of the other beautiful things, people, and places in the world too.

Invasion of the Demon Bicycle Racers

Invasion of the Demon Bicycle Racers
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time Earth was invaded by a team of evil demon bicycle racers. Led by the Devil himself, they raced all over Earth looking for people to try to persuade to join the dark side and serve the Devil. They found some who were a bit easy to convince, and some who were not quite that easy. Sometimes all it takes is a little help from above. Just trust in the Lord and all will be fine. This is a battle that rages on, even today.

Revenge of the Water Sprits

Revenge of the Water Sprits
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time there lived a family named Jones. The man’s name was Ben, and the woman’s name was Sandy. They had two children named Tony and Jennifer. The Jones family loved to spend lots of time outside having fun. One day they decided to have a picnic. They had all of the traditional food. They also played water games such as shooting water pistols, and popping water balloons. There was even a dunk tank. While the food was cooking on the grill, Ben picked up a water pistol and began shooting Tony and Jennifer. They ran around trying to get away. Then they turned and began shooting back at him. Meanwhile Sandy began throwing some water balloons at Ben, Tony, and Jennifer. Soon it was time to eat. After lunch they all began playing again. This time they also took turns in the dunk tank. Sandy was first to be dunked. Ben began throwing balls at the tank, plunging Sandy into the water several times. Each one of the children also took a turn at throwing their Mom into the water. It soon was time for the picnic to end. They all had fun, and promised to do it again soon.

The Mad Scientist Returns

The Mad Scientist Returns
By Charles Rachel

When we last left the mad Scientist’s laboratory, he had invented a magic potion that could give anyone anything they wanted in life. Then he met and helped a man named Daniel find love. What was not revealed in the first part of the story however the mad Scientist also wanted to have his own experience with the magic potion. He often wondered what would happen if he added just a touch of black magic to it. He has always been a little curious about what it might be like to be a king or ruler of the world, even if only for the day, but he knew this would never happen. Then the mad Scientist began mixing the black magic into the potion. He soon met a woman named Jan. He quickly invited her into his lab and showed her the potion. She asked him what it did. He told her it would give her anything she wanted in life. She said she wanted to be a dancer. He then told her to take a drink. As she took the first sip, something strange began to happen. It wasn’t what the mad Scientist promised. Instead with every sip she took, Jan became hypnotized and more under the mad Scientist’s spell. She began to see the mad Scientist the way he hoped she would. Eventually the spell was broken and all ended well.

Why these Caracters Make for Great Television

Why these kinds of Characters Make for Great Television
By Charles Rachel

I think classic cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, the Road Runner, Fog horn Leg horn, and Tweedy Bird, just to name a few. These characters and many more make up the Loony Tunes television Program. These characters make for great TV because they provide lots of great fun and entertainment the whole family can enjoy. Unlike a lot of the other programs today, which focus on violence and in appropriate content, the Loony Tunes have stood the test of time.

The Mad Scientist's Magic Potion

The Mad Scientist’s Magic Potion
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time there lived a man named Daniel. He lived alone in a small house. He wished he could find someone to love and share his life with. He tried dating, but hadn’t been able to find the right girl. One day as Daniel was walking to the store, he came upon a tall building. He suddenly became interested in what might be inside. He slowly walked toward the building and opened the door. Then he walked up a flight of stares. He soon came to a laboratory. As Daniel entered the lab, he saw a Scientist working on a potion. He asked the Scientist what kind of potion it was. The Scientist told him it was a potion that could give him anything he wanted in life. Daniel quickly became interested and told the Scientist he wanted someone to share his life with. The Scientist told him to drink the potion and he could have that, and anything else he desired. He took a drink and left to look for someone to love. He soon met a woman named Jill. He asked her out and she said yes. They went on several dates and were married a short time later. The only real side affect was, the potion wore off at the end of the day. So he had to use it once a day to continue living this lifestyle.

A Golf Fundraiser That Takes an Un Expected Turn

A Golf Fundraiser that takes an Un Expected Turn
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time there lived two men named David and Sam. They both work at a doctor’s office, and have seen patients with many different types of ailments or diseases. However the disease that is closest to Sam and David’s hearts, and the one they would like to find the cure for most is cancer. Sam had an idea about raising money by playing sports. David’s favorite sport was golf. So they started playing golf to raise money for cancer research. They were playing golf one day, and were on the eleventh hole. Sam took a swing. The ball rolled passed the hole and into the woods. David ran after the ball. Suddenly he saw a rabbit. David slowly walked farther into the woods to look for the ball. He couldn’t find it anywhere. Sam and David soon came to the conclusion that maybe the rabbit thought the ball was a carrot and ate it. They had lots of balls though. So the game continued.

The Boldest Thing I Have Ever Done

The Boldest Thing I Have Ever Done
By Charles Rachel

The boldest thing I have ever done is admit I like something I have been ignoring for a   long time. Only to learn it is a part of my family heritage. Now I can openly talk about it and know it is something I can be proud of. I am part Irish. That means I have some family ties to the British royal family. I have always liked the royal family, but thought there was something wrong with that. Because of some of the things I like about it. However after learning more about that way of life, it is something I can and will be proud of forever and always.

Someone Who Overcame their Shyness Thrugh Murder

Someone Who Overcame Their Shyness through Murder
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time there lived a man and woman. Their names were John and Jane. Jane enjoyed meeting new people, and making new friends. However John has always been a bit shy around people he didn’t know well. One day John and Jane decided to go for a walk in the park. Along the way they met a man named Bob who also liked to take long walks in the park. As Bob came closer to them, Jane introduced herself. John said hi, but not much else. He couldn’t wait to be away from that situation.  Then one evening some time later, John went for a walk alone. This time however John took a led pipe with him, just in case he met up with Bob again. Just then John saw Bob walking his dog, and coming toward him. John didn’t want to talk to Bob. He has tried several times to avoid being in that situation, but Bob kept trying anyway. Finally John got tired of being followed around. He drew the led pipe and began swinging it at Bob. It struck Bob in the head knocking him to the ground. After a minute, John told Bob to get up. Bob just continued lying there though. It wasn’t long before John knew what he had done. John couldn’t live with himself knowing he had just committed murder. There was no need for a trial. Because since he couldn’t live with what he did, John took his own life. This left Jane all alone, which is not how it should be for anyone.

By Charles Rachel

There once was a family named Robins Who lived in Baltimore Maryland. The husband and wife’s names were Tim and Rachel.  They had two children named John and Joanne. Joanne’s sister Jill lived in Florida.  They didn’t see each other very often. Tim and Joanne’s Anniversary was coming up soon. Tim gave Joanne a necklace and unknown to Joanne, Tim and Jill had planned a surprise family reunion. Tim and Joanne were set to leave for Florida early the next morning. When they got there, Jill and Joanne hugged and began catching up on old times. Later that evening, they all went out to dinner and an early movie. After dinner everyone went back to Jill’s house, Joanne noticed the necklace Tim gave her for their anniversary was gone. Everyone looked everywhere for it. They couldn’t find it anywhere. Then they decided to hire a detective to help in case they were overlooking it. Detective John Smith arrived on the seen. He quickly pulled out his magnifying glass and looked inside and out. He finally found it. Had fallen onto where the passenger side door opens and closes. Mr. Smith gave the necklace back to Joanne. She thanked and paid him for his services. Then everyone said there goodbyes. A short time later Tim and Joanne headed back home to Baltimore. They had a great time.

Mysterious Items Found Along the Side of the Road
By Charles Rachel

One morning in New York City, there a lot of people on there way to work, suddenly one of the cars slows down and sees something lying on the side of the road. Upon closer inspection the man learns it is a fast food container. There is also a beverage container. Someone must have thrown them out the window. “We would like to find the person or people responsible for littering and make them clean it up” said the mayor of New York City. Littering is against the law.

Everyone was planning a surprise party in her honor. All of her family and friends were going to be there. Her Mom took her out so everyone could set up for the party. When they got back, everyone yelled surprise! Then they ate dinner. After dinner it was finally time to open her gifts. She opened them all except one. It was hidden. She looked everywhere for it. She finally found it and thanked everyone for the party and gifts. It was everything hoped it would be.

What I would Like to have Owned if I Lived Twothousand Years Ago

If I lived 2000 years ago what would I like to own? By Charles Rachel If I lived 2000 years ago, I think I would have liked to own a horse. I have always liked horses. I enjoy watching western movies on television. I have not been around many horses in person. However I have pictured myself as the hero in the movies saving the day, and then riding off into the sunset on my trusty steed, much like the Lone Ranger. Except without a sidekick.

What Would We do Without Water an important Source of Life on Earth

What Would We Do Without Water? An Important Source of Life on Earth By Charles Rachel Water is the most precious resource we have on this planet. Without it life as we know it would not exist. Here on Earth. All living creatures depend on water to survive. Plants, Fish, Animals, frogs, even the human body is made up of a large percentage of water. That is why medical professionals say we should drink plenty of water and other fluids to stay healthy and hydrated. I have been trying to drink more water for this same rea

An Investigation to find the truth Getting to the Heart of the Matter

An investigation to find the Truth Getting to the Heart of the Matter By Charles Rachel If I heard something and wasn’t sure if it was true, I would ask around in an attempt to confirm the truth about what I was being told. If I was told many versions of the same Story, I would want to find out who was telling me the truth. Especially if it was about something I needed to do. I would say it is time to belly up to the bar of truth and find out what was really going on. I don’t like not knowing what is supposed to happen. I also don’t like being told things that are not true in most cases.

If the Woman of My Dreams Appeared at My Door

The Woman of My Dreams Appears at My Door By Charles Rachel If the woman of my dreams appeared at my door, I would be excited to see her. In fact we found each other twelve years ago. I would be disappointed to discover she wasn’t who I thought she was. However she is everything I need and more. I am looking forward to raising our daughter and expanding our family. This is something I have dreamt about for a long time. It is one of my biggest goals in life.

Back Stage Pass

Back Stage Pass
By Charles Rachel

I went to the Baltimore Arena once to see my favorite band Aerosmith. I saw my friend David there. After talking about old times, we sat in our seats to enjoy the concert. The band took the stage and began to play all of our favorite songs. Everyone began to sing along and had a great time. During the break David and I saw someone giving out back stage passes to the audience. With these passes
We were able to meet Steven Tyler and the rest of the band. This was a fun experience. I am a big fan of Aerosmith. For any of my blog readers who may be wondering, this story is made up and did not really happen.

Secret Passageway

Secret Passageway
By Charles Rachel

If I moved into a new house and discovered a secret passageway, I would do the following things. First I would explore to find out where it leads. If it led to another room, I might turn it into a man cave or an office. That way I could keep my computer in it and continue writing. I would also have a quiet place to just relax if needed. I might even use it as an emergency exit if it led outdoors. The possibilities are endless if there is a secret passageway. It might even make a good hiding place for those who like playing hide and seek.

The Tooth Fairy is a Thief

The Tooth Fairy is a Thief
By Charles Rachel

If the tooth fairy was a thief, she might try to steel even teeth that are not ready to come loose. If this was the case, I would want to know what she thinks she is doing. I would then try to guide her away from the children and send her on her way. If she refused to leave I would call the police to take her away. Then Tonya and I would take over the responsibilities of the tooth fairy for our children.

Valentine's Day Secret Admirer

Valentine’s Day Secret Admirer
By Charles Rachel

If someone sent me a
Valentine’s Day card I would be grateful. I would want to know who my secret admirer is. I would then plan to meet her at the location. If she is not Tonya I would say thanks, but no thanks. I would let her down easy so I didn’t hurt her feelings. I love Tonya and wouldn’t do anything to loose her or the family we have and want. I am a one woman man and that’s how I like it. On the other hand if I was single and I’m not saying want to be. I would embrace the secret love and see where it might lead.

What I Would Do If Someone Posted a Negitive Comment About an Article I Have Posted on My Blog

What I Would Do if Someone Posted a Negative Comment about an Article I Have Posted on My Blog
By Charles Rachel

If someone posted a negative comment about something on my blog, I would first try to explain why I feel the way I do about the subject in the hopes they might be better able to have a better understanding of my point of view. If they still don’t understand. Or don’t like what I have to say. All I can tell them is don’t read my blog. However most people like to read my work and I enjoy being able to share it with everyone. Writing has become a great love of mine and no one should say anything negative about it. I try very hard to get faster at typing so I can hopefully gain employment as a writer or Newspaper reporter. I welcome any assistance I can get that might help me become a better writer.

What I would Do If my Friends Needed Help

What I Would Do If my Best Friends Needed Help
By Charles Rachel

If my best friends called me and said they needed help I would be there. If they told me they couldn’t talk about it over the phone I would rush to them as soon as possible. I would listen as they explained the problem and do anything I could to help them find a solution to the problem. All they would need to do is let me know. I know if the tables were turned and I needed help. They would do the same for me. Because that’s what friends are for.

A Letter to Myself

A Letter to Myself
By Charles Rachel

Dear Me,

I am writing this letter to express my hopes for a better way of life in the future. I want certain things for myself in life, but sometimes what I want and what I get are two different things. Just once I would like things to go my way. At least more then they have in the past. I don’t expect things to be perfect, but they can be a bit better then they are at times. I am trying to figure out how I can help make things better for myself.

Something in My Family That Means So Much to Me

Something in My Family That Means So Much to Me
By Charles Rachel

Something in my family that means a lot to me is my relationship with my niece and two nephews. I enjoy playing with them and watching them play by themselves or with each other. It is fun to watch them to see what they might do next. It is always unpredictable. I help do things for and with them to help them learn and succeed in life whenever I can. This also helps me see and understand what it would be like to be a parent. I am learning by watching my sister and brother in law raise my niece and nephews. I want to have and raise a family of my own some day soon.

Why I Feel I was Put on Earth

Why I Feel I Was Put on Earth
By Charles Rachel

I think my purpose in life is to help others. I am trying to find a job that allows me to work around and with people. I don’t know in what way I am supposed to best help people. Or what type of paying job I should have to best accomplish this. However I need to do something soon, because I want to expand our family. I need to help support myself and our family. These plans for the future are very important to me.

My Biggest Dream in life When I Was a Child but It Is No Longer a Dream

My Biggest Dream in Life When I Was a Child but It Is No longer a Dream
By Charles Rachel

When I was a child I used to dream of being a king. I would pretend I was part of a real royal family. I even wondered what it would be like to someday be an air to the throne. As I got older I soon realized this would never happen in the United States of America. The closest we would ever get to that is becoming the president. I have no desire to do that. Sometimes it is nice to pretend you are something or someone you’re not though. I still sometimes find myself wishing I could spend maybe just a little time in the land of make believe. Then reality sets in and life gets in the way.

How I Deal with Success and Failier

How I Deal with Success and Failure.

If I succeed at something, it makes me happy and I enjoy my success. However if I fail at something I try harder to succeed at something else. I never give up on my dreams or my abilities to make a living doing something I enjoy. I know there must be a job out there somewhere for me and I won’t stop looking until I find it. I hope with everyone’s help I can find something soon. These are some of the ways I deal with success and failier.

Something I Planned That didn't Go as I Expected

Something I Planned That didn’t Go as I expected
By Charles Rachel

Tonya and I have been planning to get married, but things have happened that has delayed this happy occasion from taking place as soon as we had hoped. We still want to get married and add to our family. We will continue working very hard to achieve this goal. It is something we have both wanted for a long time. Hopefully someday soon we can have the kind of life we both want and deserve.

A Truly Spiritual Time in My Life

A Truly Spiritual Time in My Life
By Charles Rachel

Many years ago I went on a trip with some friends to visit Hershey Park. I had been following the group as we were walking around the park grounds. They soon went far ahead of me and I lost sight of them. As I tried to catch up with them, I soon found myself stuck in a ditch. My wheel chair would not move. Then out of nowhere I heard a gentle man asking if I needed help. I said yes please. As I began to drive forward he pushed until I was free. I then turned around to thank him, but he was gone. Leaving me wondering if anyone was ever really there. I didn’t hear him walk up to me, or leave. No one on Earth can appear or disappear that quickly. I think I was dealing with an Angel sent by God. Because I never found out who helped me. I have never experienced anything quite like that before or since this happened.

A Dark and Turbulent Moment in My Life

A Dark and Turbulent Moment in My Life
By Charles Rachel

A dark and turbulent time in my life happened in two thousand four when I became seriously ill and almost died. I couldn’t remember anything or anyone. I left the Arc and went to the hospital. I also spent time in a nursing home. I don’t remember much about this time in my life. However As time went on I began recalling bits and pea ces of my life in flashbacks in my mind. At times I began to think I might never be the same again. If I even survived at all. I seemed to always remember Tonya and Abigail though. No one knows what caused the illness or if it will happen again, but we all hope not.

My Best Friend and What Makes Him Special

My Best Friend and What Makes Him Special
By Charles Rachel

My best friend’s name is Adam Dunn. He is special because he would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He is a caring, helpful person. We have known each other for many years. We also went to school together. He used to throw a Christmas party every year and invite all of his closest friends. I am proud to call him my friend. I know even today if either of us need the other’s help, we need only to ask. Because that’s what friends are for.

My Favorite Movie and Why It Is Special to Me

My Favorite Movie and Why It Is Special to Me
By Charles Rachel

My favorite movie is Mrs.Doubtfire. It stars Robin Williams and Sally Field as a married couple with children who discover they are better people and parents when they are divorced. Their names in the movie are Daniel and Miranda Hilliard. Sally’s character is awarded full custody of the couple’s children by the court after Daniel is deemed a UN fit father and a danger to his children. He is given visitation rights, but wants more. The children’s mother meanwhile has placed an add in the local Newspaper for a baby sitter. Daniel who is also an actor sees the add and calls her several times. Each time changing his voice making it appear many people are interested in the position. The last time he calls, he makes his voice sound like that of a sixty year old woman and calls himself Mrs. Doubtfire. Then he goes to there house dressed in a body suit and mask. He gets the job as the new baby sitter. He must take the costume off and put it on several times during the movie. Daniel also gets a job working as the host of a children’s educational program at the television station where he once worked as a shipping clerk and cartoon actor. In the end the judge’s decision is reversed. Daniel is found to be a fit father and takes the children for a few hours after school to spend time with them. This movie is special to me because it shows what parents are willing to do or go through for the children they love.

Something That Shook My Belief System to Its Core and Is a Big Disappointment

Something That Shook My Belief System to Its Core and Is a Big Disappointment
By Charles Rachel

Something that is a big disappointment to me is being told I can’t do something before I even try. No one really knows what they are capable of until they try. When someone tells me I can’t do something it just makes me
Work even harder to prove a ll of the doubters wrong. Then I can tell them all I told you so. Anyone can do anything they want. As long as they stay focused on their goals and work hard and never give up, or loose faith in themselves or their abilities.

A Book I Have Read That Changed My Views On Something

A Book I Have Read That Changed My Views on Something
By Charles Rachel

One of my favorite books to read in school was the History text book.
One of the most interesting facts I have learned is about the origin of the Halloween Holliday. It began as a harvest festival. Children would also play tricks or vandalize things. To stop this from happening, people started offering treats. Such as candy in the hopes it might stop these tricks. This became known as trick or treat. People also started wearing home made costumes. Soon costumes were made available in stores and featured witches, pumpkins, and super Heros. I used to think Halloween was a celebration of spirits of imagination However it is much more. Now I have a better understanding of Halloween. Though ghosts, pumpkins, and everything we associate with Halloween still has its own special place in the halliday

Someone I Have Met Randomly Who Has Made an Impact on My Life

Someone I Have Met Randomly Who Has Made an Impact on My Life
By Charles Rachel

Once many years ago, my family and I went out to watch a pro wrestling program which was being held at South Carroll High School. We also got to meet many of the wrestlers after the program ended. I remember meeting a female Wrestler by the stage name Sensational Sherry. The first thing she did was grab me. She then proceeded to kiss me. I thought it was a trick planned by my family. Because before that happened, Mom said how funny it would be if Sherry Kissed me. Sherry said she just couldn’t resist me. Unfortunately Sensational Sherry has since died. However I have never forgotten that night. Or that kiss from a total stranger for no reason at all.
That is how a random meeting I was never expecting changed my life.

I went to school with a girl named Martina Fowler. We used to play together in grade school on the playground. We were also in many of the same classes all throughout school. We both graduated from South Carroll High School in 1996. We even traded phone numbers and kept in touch at first throughout the years. She has since moved and gotten married. I saw her a several years ago at a carnival with her husband. Her last name is Llewellyn now. I miss her and hope our paths cross again some day.

A Musical Band Whose Music Has Impacted My Life

A Musical Band or Artist Whose Music Has Impacted My Life
By Charles Rachel

A musical artist whose music has had an impact on my life is country music star Tim McGraw. He has a song out called Don’t Take the Girl. I have always liked it. Recently when I hear it, I think of Tonya and our relationship. I wouldn’t want to loose her or the love we share. We have been close to that before and that’s as close as we ever want to get to the end of our relationship. Even almost the end is to close for comfort. To live without her would be like living without air I fear. I would be a shell of the man I once was, if I even survived at all.

Someone Who Has Made My Life worth Living
By Charles Rachel

Someone in my life who has made it `worth living is Tonya. Before we met I used to think I might never find anyone to share my life with. I was prepared to spend the rest of my life alone. Since we met I am no longer afraid of this. I know she will always love me as I love her. Now I am excited even more about the future. I feel grateful and lucky to have her in my life. I don’t know what I would do without her.

Things on My Bucket List

Things on My Bucket List
By Charles Rachel

First I should explain what a Bucket List is for my readers who may not know.
A Bucket List is a list of things you want to do or experience in life before death.
One of the first things on this list is for Tonya and me to expand our family. I would like to keep my name or blood line to continue long after I am gone. The next experience I would like to have as a last memory is something I briefly discussed in an earlier article about my perfect world. I have always been interested in the Royal lifestyle. One of my favorite things about it is the bow or curtsy greeting a Royal receives. I am more interested in the curtsy, which means the same as the male bow. It is not my intention to disrespect anyone, or give the wrong impression, but if I keep denying my feelings about this subject. I would be lying to myself and everyone else about what I like. I hope there is someone reading this that is willing to curtsy just for the fun of it. These are a few things on my bucket list. Please know this isn't ment in a fresh way tward anyone. I personally think it would be an interesting experience ment in fun only, and no other reason.

Something I Hope to Change About Myself

Something I Hope to Change about Myself
By Charles Rachel

I hope to be better about helping Tonya through hard times. I don’t always know what to say in some situations to help her feel better. I hope to be able to learn these and many other life skills with her help. I feel this will help me become a better person. In addition I will become better able to handle some of the relationship issues we sometimes have to face. I think this will help us have a closer, stronger, more stable relationship then ever before.

Something About Which People Compliment Me

Something About Which People Compliment Me
By Charles Rachel

I get compliments on my writing from my friends, family, and co-workers who read my articles, which are posted on several public blogs. I find it easier to express my feelings through writing because the words seem to come out easier then when I speak directly to someone. I also love writing very much. This is something I continue to receive lots of compliments and support on.

Something at Which I Have Been a Champion

Something at Which I Have Been a Champion
By Charles Rachel

Something I have been a champion at in my lifetime is when I was in school and we were learning about the purpose of the government, which is to make laws, enforce laws, and interpret laws. Our teacher made a game out of this objective. She wanted to see if we could not only remember it, but who could say it the fastest. I was able to set and keep the record for the fastest speaker of this definition in my class. I held this championship for a long time. That is until I was finally defeated some time later.
I still think about that sometimes and how much fun it was.
I also still think about my friends and wonder what they are doing now.
Thanks to social networks like Face book, I am still in touch with some of them today.

My Favorite Super Hero and Why I like him

My Favorite Super Hero and Why I Like Him
By Charles Rachel

My favorite Super hero is Super-Man. I like him for a few reasons. The first reason is because he can fly, he can move very fast when necessary, he is extremely strong, and when he is not needed, he is under cover as a Newspaper reporter. I like that because that’s what I want to be some day. If I could have any special powers, it wouldn’t be one he has. However I used to think in some situations I could have used the power of persuasion to get things done. Not so much anymore though. This would also be another way I could help people who need it.
I think this would be a neat way to live my life.

Something That Has Recently Happened That I Am Proud Of

Something Recent That I Am Proud Of
By Charles Rachel

I am proud of the relationship Tonya and I share. It means a lot for me to know I finally have someone to share my life with. It is something I used to think I might never find. There are some people in our lives however who don’t like the decisions we have made, or continue to make. To those people I say, “It is our life. We have heard what you have to say. Please leave us alone to do what we want.”
I am also proud of our daughter Abigail, who has recently begun taking Ballet, lessens and loves it. I also have recently received a Flu vaccination, which I try to have done once a year. These are some of things I am most proud of.

Nicknames I Have Had and The Reasons For Them

Nicknames I Have Had and The Reasons For Them
By Charles Rachel

Some of the nicknames I have had are Chuck, which is a short version of my name.
I was given this nickname by a teacher in grade school. She just loved the sound of it and I didn’t mind. I was also given the nickname The Computer Wiz Kid, because I am good at operating the computer. My teachers would come to me if they had trouble with the it. I have also had the nickname Charlie Brown, after the peanuts comic strip characters, because it is funny. In addition I have been thought of as Charlie as in the Tuna fish commercial, because it is funny. These are a few of the nicknames I have had through the years. The one I like most is Charlie.

Something That Excites Me and Gives Me Great Joy

Something That Excites Me and Fills Me With Joy
By Charles Rachel

Something that gets me excited and feeling joyful is thinking about Tonya and our family together. I also look forward to planning activities to do during Support Services and spending time with Tonya enjoying it. I also am getting excited thinking about the weather getting warm, because we will be able to take our daughter Abigail with us. Something else that excites me a great deal is thinking about the day we get married and spend every day of the rest of our lives together forever. This is something that has taken a long time to happen, but it has been a dream of mine for a very long time. It is well worth the wait.

Something That Gives Me Balence

Something that gives me balance is being able to be out among friends as much as possible and staying active in the community. This is important to me because I sometimes get bored easily if I have to stay home for an extended period of time.
I enjoy being around friends and co-workers doing different activities. Getting out also helps me to not go crazy as I otherwise might if I were to stay home all the time. Going out is also lots of fun. This way I get to enjoy life and live it to its fullest potential.

Something That Is Part Of My Routine That I Enjoy

Something that is part of my work routine is writing articles about things I have done, things I want to do in the future, and interesting places I have been.
I also post these articles on several blogs on the internet. I also enjoy drinking coffee and watching the morning News while I wait for the van to bring me to work. In addition I enjoy spending as much time with Tonya and Abigail as possible every week. Finally I enjoy listening to the Radio.
These are just a few examples of things that are part of my routine.

Something with which I struggle

Something With Which I Struggle

By Charles Rachel

There are a few things I struggle with in my life.

The first thing I struggle with on a daily bases is getting around in my wheelchair. Sometimes it .isn't easy to move around in small tight spaces. I try to navigate these obsticals the best way I can. I also have difficulty seeing small print. I use assistive technology such as a magnifying glass, a large print keyboard, a zoomtext computer program and a trackball mouse to assist with these issues. I enjoy writing and hope to make a living at it someday soon, but I will continue to write even if I don't get a paying job doing it.

These are some of the things I struggle with every day.
