Baltimore Ravens 2019 N F L season recap

Baltimore Ravens 2019 NFL season recap By Charles Rachel The Baltimore Ravens had an awesome 2019 NFL season led by Quarterback Lamar Jackson, who had one of the best seasons I have seen in quite some time! Jackson threw one touchdown pass after another, allowing the Ravens to gain several victories over the teams they faced this year. The Ravens even almost made it to the Super bowl this year! However, the team lost the next to final playoff game. By winning both of their final playoff games, the Ravens would have made it to the Super bowl. Maybe next year the Ravens will make it to the Super bowl and win it. We can only hope. The 2020 baseball season is almost here! The Baltimore Orioles continue their team’s rebuild this year, and training camp begins today with pitchers and catchers reporting for duty. Everyone else reports on Thursday February 13, 2020

My fantasy football season 2019

My fantasy football season 2019 By Charles Rachel One of the things I like to do for fun is watch sports on television. I also enjoy attending live sports events when I get the opportunity to do so. I am a big football and Baltimore Ravens fan! Several years ago, I began playing fantasy football. This is a game created by the National Football League. The purpose of fantasy football is to allow fans to have fun by pretending to own your own football team. You name your team anything you choose. Next choose from a list of real football players you would like to have on your team, this basically creates an all star team of players from multiple teams all playing at some point in the same week. After selecting the players for your team, simply place the players in your lineup that you think will score the most points for their respective teams in the real games. If your player scores for his team, he also scores for your fantasy team. It gets complicated if one of your players is not playing during a week, or his team has the week off. In that case, you need to choose another player to put in his place in the lineup. There is much more, but that is the basic idea of the game. My fantasy team’s name is Charlie’s Raiders. My win loss record is 1-1 after two weeks of play. You can play with friends by creating your own league, or play against others at random by joining a league managed by whatever website you choose to play on. For example, I use www.nfl.com/fantasy, There are also many other great websites out there that allow you to play fantasy football. Some of them do require gambling though. I play only play for fun and for free. This is my recommendation to anyone wanting to play fantasy football. My advice to anyone interested in playing this game. Have fun, but don’t let it worry you so much that it makes you sick while trying to set your weekly fantasy team lineup. There are also fantasy games with nearly’ every sport out there.

My latest fishing adventure with local fisherman and freelance writer Jim Gronaw

My latest fishing adventure with local fisherman and freelance writer Jim Gronaw By Charles Rachel On Monday July 18, 2019 I had the opportunity to go fishing with local fisherman and freelance writer Jim Gronaw. This is the second fishing trip Jim and I have taken together. We went to a local pond. I caught a number of bluegills and bass. Jim caught none himself, we think this was the Lord's plan on that day. Jim and I attend Uniontown Bible Church together. This was a fun day of fishing and discussing our faith. I can’t wait to do it again soon! https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/65864969_2405323789526665_2767970078535188480_n.jpg?_nc_cat=103&_nc_oc=AQlA4pszQTjrknB8UI7Y34y9illd6A1VSB78ev6LSWdX6nlVTCJXTMThQk5LW0TOYy0&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&oh=67ca4f87cd7f0253579e9a1ee3df8c4d&oe=5DDB4537

My new power wheelchair

I recently received my new wheelchair last week after a long wait for it. The wheelchair arrived on Friday July 12, 2019 and it has already changed my life more than any wheelchair I have ever had! In addition to being mobile of course, I now have the ability to use it as a recliner! This feature is very helpful. Because there have been a few times in which my back has hurt for some reason while at the Arc, and I have had to sit in a recliner here until the pain subsided. This does not happen often though. This is the first chair I have ever had with a reclining feature. It also has a head rest and air cushioned seat that inflates by turning a knob when I get out of the chair, then deflates when I get in the chair. This happens to insure the seat remains comfortable while I am sitting in it. This is also to prevent the seat/cushion from sagging or warring down over time. The controller used to drive and recline the chair also moves out of the way for getting under tables. The arm rests also lift out of the way when getting under tables. Because the seat inflates and deflates for comfort and due to the chair’s design, I sit much higher than previously. The seat also has built in lateral supports that help me sit straighter. I absolutely love this chair already! I have not even had it for a full week yet! The footplates fully retract to make it easy when getting under tables, workstations, or when transferring in and out of the chair. You can even get a seat function that lifts you to a full standing position; mine doesn’t have that feature though. I can also lay all the way back as if I were in bed. I am loving this new wheelchair more and more every day!!

RRavens 2018 week 7 R ecap

Ravens week 7 game Recap By Charles Rachel The Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints faced off in week 7 of the 2018 N F L season. The Ravens lost the 24-23 after Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco threw a touchdown pass to John Brown with 24 seconds left in the game. Ravens kicker Justin Tucker missed the first ever extra point kick of his career which would have tied the game and sent it into overtime. However, Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw for his 500th career touchdown. Brees is the third quarterback to beat all 32 teams in the National Football League in his career. Saints defeat Ravens by the final score of 24-23

What will it be coffee or tea?

Which will it be Coffee or tea? By Charles Rachel People begin their day in many different ways. Many feel they need a beverage such as Orange juice, Milk, or maybe a cup of tea is more your thing to wake up in the morning. Coffee is my drink of choice! I drink it once, sometimes twice a day at least. I also like it for the health benefits it provides. For example, I was advised to drink it last year after taking a stress test. Because the caffeine in coffee helps slow your heart rate down to a more regular pace when at rest. Though some people prefer tea instead.

Millions of Footprints

Millions of Footprints By Charles Rachel I was walking in the woods one day when suddenly I saw something strange on the path ahead. There were millions of tiny footprints coming out of the bushes, crossing the path, and disappearing into the bushes on the other side. I had some free time so I decided to follow the footprints and investigate. Upon closer inspection, the footprints appeared to belong to Chewbacca from Star Wars! How he crash landed on Earth, no one knows.

Medieval Mayhem

Medieval Mayhem By Charles Rachel Medieval Times is an interesting time period in world history for me, it is also a great place to get dinner and enjoy watching the battle for the kingdom take place. This is interesting to me because it gives me and others a chance to learn about what happens in other parts of the world, and how it is different from the way we are used to living in the United States. I have been fortunate enough to have visited Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in the past, and I enjoyed it a great deal! I enjoy experiencing as much as possible in life.

My first Love

My first Love By Charles Rachel My girlfriend all throughout school was Aimee Buswell. In fact, I often think of her even today. However, when I was in middle school I started to develop a crush on another girl in my Science class. I don’t talk about it much and nothing came of it, but she felt it too. Her name was Misty Gamber and she sat in the back of the classroom. I soon started looking back in her direction and noticed her staring back at me the entire class time. This quickly became a daily occurrence between the two of us. The teacher soon noticed what was happening, but did nothing about it after seeing proof through my passing his class tests, that I was paying attention to his lessons, though I did not always keep proper eye contact with him. He understood why, and gave us the opportunity to work on the final class project. I have not seen or spoken with her since. Though she told her friends that she ate lunch with what she would like to do in great detail. Though all through school, my feelings for Aimee never changed.

My Trip to Catoctin Zoo

My trip to Catoctin Zoo By Charles Rachel I recently had the opportunity to visit Catoctin Zoo with some friends from the Arc Carroll County Day Program. We saw lots of neat animals there. Such as monkeys, birds, turtles, and some of us even saw snakes. My favorite thing to see was the turtles. We even had lunch there and took group pictures. This was a fun trip. It is also the first time in a very long time that I have been to the zoo. This trip was also important to me, because it is the last one I got to take with one of the members of the Arc staff as she is leaving to take a new job. We have agreed to stay in touch though! Congrats. Jen S.

The Beutiful Voice

The beautiful voice By Charles Rachel One of the ladies with the most beautiful voice I have ever heard, and there have been many is my friend from high school, Tracy Brosenne. I had the opportunity to hear her sing in school and I think she did an amazing job! I haven’t seen her in a long time, but she helps my niece in school. I often think about my friends and what they might be doing now. I have never forgotten Tracy or that experience in High School.

Running with a Ghost

Running With a Ghost By Charles Rachel If I was training to run a marathon and met up with a ghost, I hope it would be my friend Shane Davidson. I have written about him in a previous article. He was my fishing buddy in my youth. I think of him often and would like to think he is watching over me from above. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if his spirit was watching me from a window. I would welcome it as a matter of fact! I have also lost many other friends and family members over the years. Any of them could be watching at any given time, I know they are.

The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man By Charles Rachel As an invisible man, I would be able to go anywhere I pleased without ever being seen. I wonder what I’d see or learn that I wouldn’t otherwise know. There have been many times in my life in certain situations where I have wanted to be a fly on a wall, as the saying goes. Being invisible would give me an opportunity to maybe see the world in a different way. Also, I might be able to see more of it!

What animals might think about the world we live in

What Animals might think about the world we live in By Charles Rachel We live in a world that can seem boring sometimes, but has anyone ever thought about what other animals might think about it? Lets think about it. Fish and ocean life swim around with no place to go, and other pets and animals do what they do! At least we as people can find ways to break it up and find ways to manage our time wisely, but fish and other under water animals just swim around with no place to go! It would be interesting to hear what they think about the world we live in.

An Ocean of Crabs

An Ocean of Crabs By Charles Rachel Crabs are one of my favorite things to eat. I could eat a whole bushel all by myself. I have never gone crabbing before. However, I might be tempted to try it, if I found an ocean full of them. Ocean City is one place I have never visited before. That might be a nice trip to take, if I get the chance. There may even be crabs there to catch, if I went at the right time of season. Then again, maybe I’ll just stick to catching fish. It is probably he easier of the two options anyway.

Wabbit Hunting: my Loonet Tunes Adventure

Wabbit Hunting: my Looney tunes adventure By Charles Rachel I think it would be fun to wake up and find myself in a Looney Tunes cartoon, helping Elmer Fudd chase Bugs bunny. I like the episode where Bugs and Daffy duck are telling him it’s Wabbit season and duck season at the same time. In that case, Elmer could chase Bugs, and I could chace Daffy. Or the other way around, it would also be a nice escape from reality for a while.

Bo and Luke just wanted to Have Fun

Bo and Luke were just having fun By Charles Rachel The Dukes of Hazard is one of my favorite television programs of all time. The show’s re runs have recently been taken off of cable television, because of the controversy over the meaning behind the confederate battle flag that appears on the roof of the famous car called the General Lee, named after confederate General Robert E. Lee of course. The flag features a cross in the shape of the letter X with about fourteen stars on it. It has been said that the flag represents slavery and a way of life that we as Americans don’t agree with or appreciate. This way of life is wrong of course, but it is unfortunately the way things were during this time. However, it should not be like that now. I do not agree with the decision to remove the Dukes of Hazard or any TV program from the air, simply because the confederate flag is used in it. The show makes no mention of the issues associated with the symbol. What will be next? Will our American flag be next because it represents our freedom? Why can’t we ever just leave well enough alone? We just might be better o ff in the long term if we did.

Night at the Museum

Night at the Museum By Charles Rachel If I was stuck in a museum after it closed, I would most defiantly go exploring everything to see what was there. I would also be interested in seeing if anything came to life like in the movie of the same name! I would also try to stay aware of any night security guards that might be watching and if they spotted me, I might try to pose as one of the exhibits for a while. Then I would get out of there if I could. I think it might be a fun experience to have, though I would try not to get locked in there all night. I hope some or the things there would come to life, so I would have someone to talk to. It might be a long night!
