My new power wheelchair
I recently received my new wheelchair last week after a long wait for it. The wheelchair arrived on Friday July 12, 2019 and it has already changed my life more than any wheelchair I have ever had! In addition to being mobile of course, I now have the ability to use it as a recliner! This feature is very helpful. Because there have been a few times in which my back has hurt for some reason while at the Arc, and I have had to sit in a recliner here until the pain subsided. This does not happen often though. This is the first chair I have ever had with a reclining feature. It also has a head rest and air cushioned seat that inflates by turning a knob when I get out of the chair, then deflates when I get in the chair. This happens to insure the seat remains comfortable while I am sitting in it. This is also to prevent the seat/cushion from sagging or warring down over time. The controller used to drive and recline the chair also moves out of the way for getting under tables. The arm rests also lift out of the way when getting under tables. Because the seat inflates and deflates for comfort and due to the chair’s design, I sit much higher than previously. The seat also has built in lateral supports that help me sit straighter. I absolutely love this chair already! I have not even had it for a full week yet! The footplates fully retract to make it easy when getting under tables, workstations, or when transferring in and out of the chair. You can even get a seat function that lifts you to a full standing position; mine doesn’t have that feature though. I can also lay all the way back as if I were in bed. I am loving this new wheelchair more and more every day!!

RRavens 2018 week 7 R ecap
Ravens week 7 game Recap
By Charles Rachel
The Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints faced off in week 7 of the 2018 N F L season. The Ravens lost the 24-23 after Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco threw a touchdown pass to John Brown with 24 seconds left in the game. Ravens kicker Justin Tucker missed the first ever extra point kick of his career which would have tied the game and sent it into overtime. However, Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw for his 500th career touchdown. Brees is the third quarterback to beat all 32 teams in the National Football League in his career. Saints defeat Ravens by the final score of 24-23

What will it be coffee or tea?
Which will it be Coffee or tea?
By Charles Rachel
People begin their day in many different ways. Many feel they need a beverage such as Orange juice, Milk, or maybe a cup of tea is more your thing to wake up in the morning. Coffee is my drink of choice! I drink it once, sometimes twice a day at least. I also like it for the health benefits it provides. For example, I was advised to drink it last year after taking a stress test. Because the caffeine in coffee helps slow your heart rate down to a more regular pace when at rest. Though some people prefer tea instead.

Millions of Footprints
Millions of Footprints
By Charles Rachel
I was walking in the woods one day when suddenly I saw something strange on the path ahead. There were millions of tiny footprints coming out of the bushes, crossing the path, and disappearing into the bushes on the other side. I had some free time so I decided to follow the footprints and investigate. Upon closer inspection, the footprints appeared to belong to Chewbacca from Star Wars! How he crash landed on Earth, no one knows.

Medieval Mayhem
Medieval Mayhem
By Charles Rachel
Medieval Times is an interesting time period in world history for me, it is also a great place to get dinner and enjoy watching the battle for the kingdom take place. This is interesting to me because it gives me and others a chance to learn about what happens in other parts of the world, and how it is different from the way we are used to living in the United States. I have been fortunate enough to have visited Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in the past, and I enjoyed it a great deal! I enjoy experiencing as much as possible in life.

My first Love
My first Love
By Charles Rachel
My girlfriend all throughout school was Aimee Buswell. In fact, I often think of her even today. However, when I was in middle school I started to develop a crush on another girl in my Science class. I don’t talk about it much and nothing came of it, but she felt it too. Her name was Misty Gamber and she sat in the back of the classroom. I soon started looking back in her direction and noticed her staring back at me the entire class time. This quickly became a daily occurrence between the two of us. The teacher soon noticed what was happening, but did nothing about it after seeing proof through my passing his class tests, that I was paying attention to his lessons, though I did not always keep proper eye contact with him. He understood why, and gave us the opportunity to work on the final class project. I have not seen or spoken with her since. Though she told her friends that she ate lunch with what she would like to do in great detail. Though all through school, my feelings for Aimee never changed.
