The Ravens almost blew another one, until their defense save the game once again, pulling out a 34-28 win in overtime against the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.
The Ravens dominated the game throughout the entire first half, leading 21-7 at halftime. That lead became 28-7 after David Reed returned the second half opening kick-off for a touchdown. It looked like the Ravens were going to easily win the game, but nothing has been easy for the Ravens especially in the second half of games this season. The Texans mounted a 21-point comeback and were able to tie up the game, forcing overtime. They scored two touchdowns with just 6 minutes left, on drives of 99 yards and 95 yards against a tired Ravens defense who had been on the field for the majority of the second half.
In overtime, Josh Wilson intercepted Matt Schaub's pass and returned it 12 yards for the game-winning touchdown and prevented what would have been an embarrassing loss.
The Ravens only managed to gain 253 yards of offense in the game, most of which came in the first half. The defense allowed 489 yards, most of which came during the Texans 21-point second half comeback. This was the eight blown fourth-quarter lead of the season by the Ravens' defense.
With the win, the Ravens are now 9-4 and are currently one game behind the Steelers for first place in the AFC North. The Ravens will return home in Week 15 to take on the New Orleans Saints, who have won six straight games. The Ravens' offense will need to keep their defense off of the field and be more productive throughout the entire game in order to prevent any blown leads.

My Blog
Recently, I started a blog. My blog can be found at http://charlierachel@blogspot.com or by accessing the link found on my Facebook profile. Since I started my blog, I have put a lot of things on it each week. On my blog, you can find my weekly Ravens recaps, a short autobiography of my life, stories about people I know and work with, and many more articles that I have written over the past four months.
I started a Blog because I enjoy writing. Prior to creating a blog, my writing was saved on a computer, where only I had access to it. I wanted a way for others to read my writing and learn about my life. Starting a blog was a great way to let people read my work, if they want to. My blog has also become an easy way to express my feelings and emotions.
Having my blog means I can share my thoughts and stories with others even if we can't speak in person. It allows them to provide feedback to me and help inspire me to continue writing. I will be able to use my blog as a reference if my employers would like to see my work.

Ravens Week 13 Recap
The Ravens played at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Many predicted that this would be a closely contested game since both teams had strong defenses. If the Ravens came out victorious in the game, they would have had a huge advantage over the Steelers and would pretty much be guaranteed first place in the AFC North for the remainder of the season.
In the first quarter, both teams started slowly as each teams' defense looked strong. As time was expiring in the first quarter, the Ravens were able to drive the ball 92-yards down the field. This drive was capped by a 14-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco to Anquan Boldin, which gave the Ravens a 7-0 lead after one quarter of play. In the second quarter, the defensive struggle continued as the Steelers and Ravens could only manage to score three points each. The Ravens led at the half, 10-3.
In the third quarter, both defenses remained strong and did not allow any points to be scored. In the third quarter it seemed like the Ravens offense began to fade much like the last two or three games this season, as they were very ineffective.
In the fourth quarter, the Steelers pushed to within 4 points with a 19-yard field goal with 13 minutes left in the game. With just over 3 minutes, the Ravens had the ball with a chance at running out the clock. On a second down play, Joe Flacco dropped back to throw, but was hit by Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, which caused the ball to fall out of Flacco's hands. The Steelers recovered the fumble and were able to take advantage of the costly turnover with just a few minutes left in the game to give them their first lead. Flacco and the offense couldn't get down the field to tie the game, as a fourth down pass fell short of tight end Ed Dickson to end any hope for the Ravens. The final score of the game was Steelers 13, Ravens 10.
With the loss the Ravens record falls to 8-4, 5-1 at home. Once again the offense played played well in the first half, but disappeared in the second half of the game and had a costly fumble, which cost them the game. The defense played well, only allowing 13 points. Joe Flacco also had a solid game as well. Unfortunately, the loss drops the Ravens out of first place in the AFC North. They will need the offense to play well for an entire game to have any shot at winning the AFC North. Next up for the Ravens is a Monday night showdown with the Houston Texans.

Ravens Week 12 Recap
The Ravens played at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. Thus far this season, the Buccaneers have been a surprising team led by their young quarterback Josh Freeman. In order to win the game and stay in first place, the Ravens needed to shut down the Buccaneers offense and limit the big plays from Josh Freeman.
The game started slowly, as neither team was able to crack the opposing defense. Finally in the second quarter the Ravens got on the board as a result of a 45-yard field goal by Billy Cundiff. The Ravens added two touchdowns later in the quarter to extend their lead. The first of the two touchdowns came on a 65-yard touchdown pass to Todd Heap from Joe Flacco, making the score 10-0. A few minutes later, Joe Flacco connected with Derrick Mason on a 10-yard touchdown pass. The second quarter was a good one for the Raven's offense, as they finally got things going and ended the half with a 17-3 lead over the Buccaneers.
In the third quarter there was no scoring once again as the defense continued their strong play. In the fourth quarter, the Buccaneers offense showed some signs of life as they added a touchdown to make it 17-10 and start what appeared to be a come back effort. Late in the game the Buccaneers had a chance to tie the game, but the Ravens defense was able to stay strong and not allow any other points to preserve the win, 17-10.
With this win, the Ravens record improved to 8-3 and they remained in first place in the AFC North. Also with the win, the Ravens were able to extend their home winning streak to 8 games dating back to last season. The defense played well throughout the entire game keeping the team in the game especially in the second half when the offense seemed to disappear. The offense played well in the first half, but disappeared during the second half. In the second half, the offense showed no life or urgency, which has been the case in the second half of a lot of the games thus far this season. This is something that will need to be fixed in order for the Ravens to come out with a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13.
