My Trip to Catoctin Zoo
My trip to Catoctin Zoo
By Charles Rachel
I recently had the opportunity to visit Catoctin Zoo with some friends from the Arc Carroll County Day Program. We saw lots of neat animals there. Such as monkeys, birds, turtles, and some of us even saw snakes. My favorite thing to see was the turtles. We even had lunch there and took group pictures. This was a fun trip. It is also the first time in a very long time that I have been to the zoo. This trip was also important to me, because it is the last one I got to take with one of the members of the Arc staff as she is leaving to take a new job. We have agreed to stay in touch though! Congrats. Jen S.

The Beutiful Voice
The beautiful voice
By Charles Rachel
One of the ladies with the most beautiful voice I have ever heard, and there have been many is my friend from high school, Tracy Brosenne. I had the opportunity to hear her sing in school and I think she did an amazing job! I haven’t seen her in a long time, but she helps my niece in school. I often think about my friends and what they might be doing now. I have never forgotten Tracy or that experience in High School.

Running with a Ghost
Running With a Ghost
By Charles Rachel
If I was training to run a marathon and met up with a ghost, I hope it would be my friend Shane Davidson. I have written about him in a previous article. He was my fishing buddy in my youth. I think of him often and would like to think he is watching over me from above. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if his spirit was watching me from a window. I would welcome it as a matter of fact! I have also lost many other friends and family members over the years. Any of them could be watching at any given time, I know they are.

The Invisible Man
The Invisible Man
By Charles Rachel
As an invisible man, I would be able to go anywhere I pleased without ever being seen. I wonder what I’d see or learn that I wouldn’t otherwise know. There have been many times in my life in certain situations where I have wanted to be a fly on a wall, as the saying goes. Being invisible would give me an opportunity to maybe see the world in a different way. Also, I might be able to see more of it!

What animals might think about the world we live in
What Animals might think about the world we live in
By Charles Rachel
We live in a world that can seem boring sometimes, but has anyone ever thought about what other animals might think about it? Lets think about it. Fish and ocean life swim around with no place to go, and other pets and animals do what they do! At least we as people can find ways to break it up and find ways to manage our time wisely, but fish and other under water animals just swim around with no place to go! It would be interesting to hear what they think about the world we live in.

An Ocean of Crabs
An Ocean of Crabs
By Charles Rachel
Crabs are one of my favorite things to eat. I could eat a whole bushel all by myself. I have never gone crabbing before. However, I might be tempted to try it, if I found an ocean full of them. Ocean City is one place I have never visited before. That might be a nice trip to take, if I get the chance. There may even be crabs there to catch, if I went at the right time of season. Then again, maybe I’ll just stick to catching fish. It is probably he easier of the two options anyway.

Wabbit Hunting: my Loonet Tunes Adventure
Wabbit Hunting: my Looney tunes adventure
By Charles Rachel
I think it would be fun to wake up and find myself in a Looney Tunes cartoon, helping Elmer Fudd chase Bugs bunny. I like the episode where Bugs and Daffy duck are telling him it’s Wabbit season and duck season at the same time. In that case, Elmer could chase Bugs, and I could chace Daffy. Or the other way around, it would also be a nice escape from reality for a while.
