Fish War at Sea

Fish War at Sea
By Charles Rachel

Most people may not know this, but there is a war going on at sea. It is between the Narwhals and Hammerhead fish. They are friends most of the time. However, it becomes a war between them when it is mealtime. The Narwhals and Hammerhead each go out in search of food. They are each very protective of any pray they find. Neither species of fish likes to share their food. They each soon find their own food, and peace is restored. This happens each time they hunt for food. Sometimes if they are hungry enough though, they might even try to eat each other. Most of the time, but when they don’t it is like a war. An ancient sea turtle once told me this story.

If My Favorite Book came to Life

If My Favorite Book came to Life
By Charles Rachel

My favorite type of book these days is one about England or Irland. This is because I am part Irish, and I have always been interested in the royal lifestyle. I realize I will most likely never meet a member of the royal family, so this would be a fun way to learn about it. If my favorite book came to life, we would act out the story. I of course, would be the king. If the book was a person, he or she would be expected to bow, curtsy, and maybe even kneel to me from time to time. Not to mention Obey my every command, and grant every request. Within reason of course, I would have advisers, and would also be happy to listen to any suggestions my loyal subjects might have. I would be living my fantasy. If this actually happened, I would want to live it over and over again. I think it would be fun.

The Fortune Teller

The Fortune Teller
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time, there lived a fortuneteller named Lady Elaine. She had a crystal ball that could show her anything she wanted to see, even things that haven’t happened yet. One day as she gazed into her crystal ball, she could see that the town was about to be invaded by an army of insects. It became quite obvious to Lady Elaine what was needed. She looked into the crystal ball again. This time, she saw a man playing a ukulele. She thought the man might be able to rid the town of its insect problem by playing music. It has happened once before after all. As it turned out, the man was already on his way into town. Lady Elaine picked up her crystal ball and headed out to meet the man. She soon met up with the ukulele player and quickly explained the insect situation. The man agreed and went into town with the fortune teller. The man began playing his ukulele as he walked through the town. The insects soon began following the man as he played the soothing music. In fact, the insects followed the man all the way out of town. The man soon returned to town to let everyone know the insects were gone. On his way into town, the man past an ice cream shop and decided to go in. As the man entered however, he could see this was not just any ice cream shop. Then he met the owner of the shop, and was surprised when he saw who it was. The owner of the ice cream shop was none other then  Frosty the snow man. Frosty gave the man a bowl of raspberry ice cream, and they talked for a while. Then they wished each other Merry Christmas, and went their own ways.

Someone who Takes a Day Off and Has an Unexpected Adventure

Someone who Takes Time off of work and has an unexpected Adventure
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time, there lived a man named Jim Brown. He worked as a computer programmer at a local company. One day, he decided to ask his boss for a day off. He was only planning to relax and take it easy. Later that afternoon, he decided to take a walk. Suddenly he came upon what appeared to be a church. He decided to take a look around. As he entered the building, he was greeted by several monks. They never actually spoke to him. Jim thought this was a bit strange. However, this is because monks are a silent religious type order. They have other ways of communicating with each other without verbally speaking.  Jim found this interesting, and asked to join them.  They welcomed him with open arms. He then stopped speaking, and embraced their way of life. He found this very exciting and adventurous. Jim enjoyed this way of life so much in fact, he decided to become a monk for good, and he never spoke again.

The Haunted Concert Hall

The Haunted Concert Hall
By Charles Rachel

Once upon a time, in the town of Sleepy Hollow, there lived a married couple named Jack and Sandy Davis, One day they heard an announcement on the radio saying, the Smashing Pumpkins were going to be performing in their town. This was their favorite band. Jack raced to the telephone, and called the station. To Jack and Sandy’s surprise, they won the tickets to the concert that night. Later that evening, Jack and Sandy arrived at the concert hall, and took their seats. Then the Smashing Pumpkins took the stage, and the concert began. They played all of their greatest hits. After a while, the band took a short break. During the intermission, the people in the audience got up to stretch, get refreshments, and take care of anything else they needed to. As some of them were walking around, they began hearing strange noises and seeing things. A few of them became curious, and began to investigate. Just then things began to be thrown around. Some of the people got frightened and ran away. Others returned to the second half of the concert and said nothing about what had happened. They were afraid some people would think they were crazy, or would not believe them. The Moral of the story, Be where of the next concert or event you attend. You may get more then you bargained for.
